Hello and thanks very much for choosing to listen to this. You know to my mind, one of the great joys of archaeologists, their ability to find something

or some place that somehow captures a moment in time and there was a really good example of this

recently, found on a beach called Lunan Bay

just to the south of here in Aberdeen.

Now, very exciting for the archaeologists involved, but they didn't have a lot of time to muck

about because the sea, the weather, everything else was encroaching on something that was

incredibly fragile. Not long ago, I spoke to one of the archaeologists involved,

the person in charge, Professor Kate Britton from the University of Aberdeen,

and asked her what they'd found.

So you can see up here on the dunes, there's layers revealed by the erosion of the dunes that are showing.
