As I arrived at the studio, out of breath and a little flustered, there'd been an incident at Putney Bridge, and I was late.

A tall, dark, handsome figure dashed past me. I didn't notice at the time. Turns out it was Luke Thompson.

He'd also been delayed, coming from a different direction, and had left his glasses in the car. He showed me

the glasses and I noticed they're quite like my glasses and as I looked at young Luke Thompson

I thought well here's a man who is almost the the better me taller better looking, but with similar glasses.

And there the similarity ends.

You might know him from Bridgeton, where he plays Benedict.

He's got a big history in the theatre.

He's in the theatre now, if you want to go and see him,

he's in a play with James Norton that sounds

like proper theatre. He'd done a performance the night before. He was about to do one the night

we spoke. We got on like a house on fire. One of my favourites, this, there was lots of good stuff

back and for. So please sit back, relax, put on your eye mask and enjoy Bryden and Luke Thompson.

If I told you that I had a terrible journey getting here today, this is sort of in Fulhamy-Putney area.

And Putney Bridge has been an incident.

And thoughts with those concerned, of course, first and foremost.

But the real victim was me because as it was coming in, the car was delayed and I was on the phone.

Well, what about Luke? What about Luke?

I don't want to keep him waiting. No, he's delayed as well. Your driver got pulled over.

Yeah, driver got pulled over. I mean, all sorts happened. I also left my classes in the car.

So then I was worried because you arrived in the studio and saw me running away. I don't know if you actually noticed this. I didn't notice it. I saw you in the car. I saw you in the car. Well, we both were. Yeah. But I saw you in the car and thought, oh God, he's thinking that I'm sort of like, I'm terrified and I'm leaving. Yeah, I've had second thoughts. Yeah, had second thoughts. Exactly. But we're here now. And then you walk in and we've never met before and have we? No, we haven't. No, we haven't. And that's always a dangerous moment, isn't it? And you've got your glasses, which you'd found and I got out my glasses and similar glasses. Very, very similar glasses. And I said, I made the point, you are essentially a younger, taller, better looking version of me.

Right.
