but now an Orthodox priest serving at St. George Orthodox Cathedral in Charleston, West Virginia.

We'll go ahead and get started and when we start in just a second, I know it's been a while.

But we'll be starting in Luke chapter 7.

And since it's been a while, just to do kind of a quick catch-up to where we are.

Of course, remember, the first few chapters of Luke were about the birth of St. John the Baptist and the birth of Christ, and we saw that one episode from his childhood and then it began the same way

the other gospels we read have from there which is with Jesus baptism by St. John the Baptist

and then last time, well last two times really, we were going through what is commonly known as the

sermon on the plane, which was a sermon that Luke presents by Jesus. We talked at that time about

how it's both similar to and somewhat different than the sermon on the Mount in Matthew,

that starts in Matthew chapter 5.

And we pretty much finished that up last time.

So we had kind of a natural, natural cutoff point there.

And so Jesus has sort of completed that sermon. We talked at that time about how we shouldn't

understand either the case of the sermon on the Mount or the sermon on the plane. The

on the plane here is even shorter. You know, we have a certain amount of text and it will say,

you know, for example,

I mean, with the sermon on the mount, when you get to the end, it was late in the day.

And we pointed out, well, if you just sat down and read the sermon on the mount, it'd take you about, you know, 45 minutes an hour.

You know, if you read slowly.

So we're not to understand that, that, you know,
