| 0:42.0 | We know that the Jewish people, particularly the Pharisees, right? |
| 0:47.6 | This is their hope, right? |
| 0:49.8 | This is their hope for salvation, is that as St. Luke is going to put it later in his gospel, God is going to restore the kingdom to Israel. They're going to have a kingdom. They're going to get rid of the Romans. They're going to have their own kingdom again. They're going to be ruled by a king descended from King David, right? The Messiah. He's going to come and establish God's kingdom on earth. There's going to be justice, right? We're going to get rid of all these Gentiles and everything will be wonderful. And so, especially since, as we've already seen, there are people talking about Jesus being the Messiah, right? You think, oh, that's a logical question then, right the what is the kingdom of god going to come and we also talked about when we were reading the book of daniel daniel had i mean they had done the math daniel had said roughly how many years it was going to be before the messiah came and it puts you sort of smack in the middle of the first century. |

| 2:01.1 | Hal Lindsay thing, you know, picking a date. That's not new. That started all the way back then. |
| 2:06.9 | Try to read the Bible and figure out exactly what. Right. So you say, well, they're just curious, |
| 2:12.6 | right? This is a discussion people are having. What is this going to happen? Right? Maybe Jesus is a |
| 2:17.4 | teacher. Maybe he's the |
| 2:18.3 | Messiah. But it's not quite so innocent when you think about the fact that once again, what they're |
| 2:24.5 | expecting the Messiah to do, right? What they're expecting the Messiah to do is come and overthrow |
| 2:31.3 | the Romans. He's going to come and he's going to raise an army. |
| 2:35.5 | He's going to overthrow the Romans and set himself up as king. |
