What do you think about the Laker team now?

0:03.5

You follow the box scores of the games every day?

0:06.0

Just the Lakers.

0:07.2

You're kidding.

0:08.6

That is really a compliment.

0:12.8

I was pleased to see you smile at the top part show because once the game starts, you have a game face.

0:17.7

You don't smile much out there.

0:20.4

I don't think you have to do things for money anymore. Correct. What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Film Room podcast. I'm Pete, joined by Darius. Lakers dropped their fourth preseason game last night, fall into one in three to the Sons. But we got the debut of Luca, who was brilliant in the first half, struggled in the third quarter. Marcus Smart. He did not take a shot. He almost Tony Snelled at Dee.

0:54.9

I think he only got one stat on the stat sheet, but he was okay. We'll talk about him a little bit later. The Lakers' third quarter woes reared their ugly head once again. That dates back to last season, perhaps even beyond. And so, Dee, what were some of your main takeaways from the game last night? So let's start with Luca because he's front of mind,

0:59.9

and it's the first time we've seen him this preseason. I'll put the third quarter aside for a

1:05.0

minute because the malaise that has struck the team overall seemed to strike Luca as well to a certain degree. But the

1:15.0

pep in his step, the ability to get to his spots on the floor, the shot making, the shot

1:22.8

creation, all of that was at a level where basically exactly what I would want to see from him,

1:30.3

particularly within the context of him not playing at all to this point and being limited

1:37.3

in practice up until the last couple of practices.

1:40.3

Just the amount of we're holding him back and then to see him come out and basically look like

1:47.9

the player you'd want him to look like if the regular season were to start, particularly in the

1:52.4

first half. I didn't really have concerns about him anyway, but I just kind of wanted to see it.

1:57.3

If I'm going to nitpick, there was like an overpassing element to his game, particularly

2:01.4

in trying to get Aiton going. He also passed up a couple of layups in order to spray to the

2:05.6

corner. That seems to be a Luca special. And we're just going to have to get used to the fact

2:10.5

that he's actually not going to score 50 because honestly, he could probably score 40 points
