So it's a real word. It means the study of games and it comes from the Latin Ludare, meaning to play. Yay!

So it was coined sometime around the 1950s. So it didn't mean video games back then because time machines had not yet been.

But nowadays it can encompass gameplay and sports and cards. Of course,

beat-bop video games. So thisologist has been be booping in my periphery for years.

My sister told me about her TED talk and she was discussing her games super better that can help folks who are

healing from an illness or going through anxiety or depression. So I've been a fan of hers for years and I reached out to her.
