I am the host, Scott Feinberg, THR's Executive Editor of Awards coverage, and I'm so thrilled

to be here in the

Kampari Lounge at the La Carno Film Festival to pick the brain of a very special guest who's

here at the Fest to receive a career achievement award and to share a new film that has great

meaning to her called Rosemede, which will screen in the Piazza Grande later this evening. Over the course of some 35 years

as an actress on screen's Big and Small, this woman has built a resume unlike any other. She has earned

Emmy and SAG Award nominations for her work on one of the biggest TV shows of its era, Ali McBeal,

and she was part of a Best Picture Oscar winner as well, Chicago.

She became, in the words of the New York Times, one of America's leading action heroes

via two Charlie's Angels films and two Kill Bill films.

And if that didn't make her cool enough, she was also name-checked in songs by Destiny's Child and Outcast.

Oh, and she's also a trailblazer. The first

Asian woman ever to host Saturday Night Live back in 2000 and only the second Asian American

woman to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 2019, 60 years after the first

Anna Mae Wong. I could go on, but I don't want to keep her or are you waiting any longer, so would you please join me in welcoming Lucy Lou.
