And this week's guest, Lucy Kellerway, it's fair to say, needs an awful lot of space

because there is so much going on, Lucy, in your book, reeducated, how I changed my job, my home, my husband and my hair.

I'll start by telling you that I'm a bit scared for the reasons that one of your daughter picks up on it, the end of the book where it says that the only people who are scared of you

are the people who don't know you, and I don't know you, and I read your book, and I don't

want to start dropping cliches before we've started, but not suffering fools gladly,

probably springs to mind. Why did you write the book?

Okay, so I wrote the book because the other side of me is desperate for people to become

teachers. So I did think how grim to write a whole book about me, but lurking, lurking in every

chapter is this idea that other people, maybe not everyone, but lots of other people

who have had a career doing something else, might actually like to do what I did, have done

and become a teacher. I couldn't actually care less whether you also want to stop dyeing your

hair, move into a modern house and leave your husband, that's entirely your business.

But that's three books in one then.

So there's the charity that you've set up, which is where we'll start, because that's what

you've reached for immediately, and that's clearly what you're most evangelical about.
