Christopher Yuan had rejected his family's wishes not to pursue a homosexual lifestyle.

He was surprised when his mother showed up at his door.

When my mother showed up at the dental school in Louisville, it was like,

what are you doing back in my life?

And so it was not what I wanted, not what I expected.

But she came and said, I love you.
