God bless because, yes, we still live in a time where people think that human rights are up for a debate, which is quite sad. But the American Psychological Association opposes, they say, transgender conversion therapy. Yeah, you're late to the party, APA, but you always kind of are. Uh, but basically

they say transgender or non-binary gender identities are normal variations in human

expression of gender. That's right. Attempts to force people to conform with rigid

gender identities can be both harmful to their mental health

and their well-being. Yeah, it's powerful that they came out and said that because what they say,

as the American Psychological Association holds a lot of power, and there are still people that

think that it's a mental illness and that treatment should be applied and can work. Now, we know

from people trying to create conversion therapy on those that are gay that not only does it not work. It leads to a lot of mental

health issues. It creates and leads to and also creates a high rate of suicidality because basically

you're telling someone who you are is bad or wrong. And none of these pieces even matter. Someone's

sexual orientation or gender identity should never be up for

discussion. It's a small part of who they are, although culturally we've made it a large part of who

someone is because of the way we oppose and battle it, right? But everyone has a right to have dignity and to

feel good about who they are. So it's meaningful that they came out.

And, you know, research is consistently talking about that.

So the fact that this organization is behind them is meaningful.
