Thought this one was really meaningful.

There's always an ongoing debate about the health of, you know, same-sex couples raising children.

Back in the day, I used to share a lot more research about this just to really normalize

what can come out of that.

And we had a lot of really robust research that showed that not only do kids, which is pretty

obvious to most of us, do fine being raised with the same-sex parents because kids don't

need a certain number of caregivers.

Parents, kids do not need a certain gender of caregivers.

They just need caregivers.

End of story.

Children need consistent, reliable, accessible,

responsive caregivers. Period. End of story. That's all they need. It doesn't matter their gender.

Doesn't matter how many there are. It can be a single parent. It can be a family member.

It can be two men, two women, one woman doesn't matter. And that's the beautiful thing. What we need is care.

That's why we use the word caregiver. Um, having a father figure promises nothing.

Children are still raised with father figures and grow up unhealthy, uh, you know, rooted in toxic

masculinity or femininity, depending on you look at it. None of these things promise anything.

Uh, and there's a lot of differences between fatherhood and motherhood. So there is no such thing as a

female role model or a father figure. They are all very different ways that people show up within

those headings. So there's nothing standardized in that. And we were looking historically at a lot
