Summary

Romans 5:3-5 - Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 2:12-16 - For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

0:09.5	aligned with the truth of God and today we have a topic that is one where we particularly need to do that because
0:16.8	it's a topic that kind of the truth that we're being told today kind of goes against what human intuition and human
0:25.8	instinct would tell us. You see we go through difficult times. We go through suffering
0:31.9	of various sorts whether it's physical or emotional or
0:36.0	circumstantial where we begin to wonder things like this things like this go
0:42.1	through our head we say if God really loves me why
0:46.0	would he let this happen if God really loves me why would he bring this into my life? If God really loves me and you fill in the
0:57.2	blank with your circumstance right now and I'm sure you can understand where I'm
1:02.1	going with this.
1:03.0	Life makes it hard to believe that God loves us sometimes.
1:08.0	People disappoint us, they hurt us in ways we never imagine would be true and sometimes they continue to do so.
1:16.0	Situations arise where there's some sort of an accident or a tragedy that occurs
1:21.0	that brings hardship or suffering into our lives.
1:26.6	We lose our means of employment, we get into a financial crunch, we have a difficult situation that seems to be ongoing and
1:35.2	never ending. I don't have to paint more pictures for you. I'm sure you
1:39.9	understand what I'm talking about. Life makes it tough for us to maintain our belief
1:46.0	that God loves us. And it's very important that we are honest about that. It's very important that we we say yes I am human I have
1:56.8	those questions I have those doubts at times and then it's important for us to
2:02.0	turn back to the scripture as our place from which we get our mindset reset.
2:07.0	You see, we've got to go back and see what is really happening during a time like this when I'm suffering.
2:15.0	Because our tendency is to make conclusions that are not true.
