Are you familiar with the emotional scale? It's a fantastic tool for checking in with your

vibration and for being able to reach for better feeling thoughts. The emotional scale is a

list of emotions from 1 to 22, from high-vibed emotions like appreciation, freedom, and positive

expectation, into the gunky middle of the scale with frustration, irritation, and

disappointment all the way down to the bottom of the scale with powerlessness, fear,

insecurity, guilt, etc. Well, resentment does not appear explicitly on the emotional scale,

but I've been thinking lately about where it would be if it did.

Anger is number 17 of 22 on the scale, which is pretty far down there. And I think you could make a

case that resentment is in some ways related to anger. But I actually think it would appear even further down

the emotional scale. In other words, I think resentment is far gunkier and emotion for most of us

when we experience it than anger is.

This might be because anger has a little bit of momentum to it, whereas resentment has a

stuckness quality.

The dictionary definition of resentment is bitter indignation at having been treated unfairly,

or at least I would say the perception of having been treated unfairly.

This is on my mind because I've noticed there are many of us walking around with a fair amount

of resentment about this, that, or the other. One of the things that almost all resentment seems to

have in common is that it's somehow rooted in the past. Now, the past could be last week
