This month I'm detailing cases of

deadly love triangles. I hope you enjoyed the first episode the case of the

killer clown. I'll have another scripted episode for you on July 31st, but the case I'll be covering today

has been one that I've been fascinated by for a long, long time.

I first learned about this case from a 1990 television movie based on this case it was

titled a killing in a small town. I remember seeing that and thinking this is this is a

wild story and I was so surprised when I found out it was true.

But recently, this case has found its way back into the spotlight with a Hulu original series titled Candy,

which debuted last year in May of 2022,

as well as another series on Max,

what it used to be called HBO Max,

but now it's called just Max,

titled Love and Death, which that one was just released in April of this year.

Both of these dramatic series are based on this true crime involving the murder of Betty Gore

in 1980 in Wiley, Texas.

And I'll tell you just a brief number, but we'll go into it as we get started here,

but if you have never heard about this case, I'll tell you really quickly. Betty Gore was killed in a very violent and gruesome way.

She was hacked to death with an axe.
