So we worship a God, Jesus Christ, who says, I didn't come to be served, but to serve.

And he says that if you want to be the greatest, you need to be the servant of all.

And Paul says in Philippians that our attitude should be the same of Jesus.

And that is, if he serves us, then we need to be willing to serve one another.

And we don't have a relationship with him unless he serves us through his death,

burial, resurrection. We can't have a relationship with others unless we serve them.

But early in our marriage, you thought you were serving me, and I thought I was serving you,

but how were we doing? We were missing each other and becoming resentful instead because we weren't asking.

We were just serving in ways that we wanted to serve, but not necessarily in ways that the

other person needed to be served.
