If you would turn in the scriptures this evening to verses we've looked at previously,

1 Peter, the second chapter, then also I think we'll go to Philippians, the first chapter.

1st Peter 2, Philippiansians 1 we began on a series some weeks ago and uh want us to

continue this has been our text first peter two and verse 5 I'm going to read the Amplified.

Let's release our faith together in prayer before we read this and the rest of it.

Father, we agree together as touching this thing and asking for utterance exactly what you'd say to us, giving all of us ears to hear

and heart to receive. Our eyes are not on each other, but on you. We say the Holy Spirit is our

teacher and we reverence your holy word. We say it is life and it is health and it is wisdom

and it is everything we need and it is forever settled and perfect and true and we'll believe it

and not doubt it. And by your grace we purpose not to be hearers only, but to be doers of what you show us.

And we know when we act on it, good things will happen

because you are faithful to watch over your word

and perform it in the lives of those who do.

Amen.

Thank you, Lord.

He said, come and like living stones, be yourselves built into a spiritual house for a holy

priesthood to offer up those spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable and pleasing to God

through Jesus Christ.

We've been made priests unto our God, and priests offer sacrifices.

And we are to offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.

The easy to read translation says,

you are to serve God in this house as holy priests,
