Hi everyone and welcome to history deweaves.

I am Tim, welcome to the podcast where we take a lighthearted look at the dark side of history.

Today we're going to talk about the lives of John, Jacob, Aster, and his lovely second wife, Madeline.

Anything about that for Andy?

I'm super excited.

Well, you know, he died on the Titanic and, you know, going back to all of our episodes,

I think we have 500 episodes that we've done in the years. We've only had one other,

one other episode in which we talked about the Titanic. So we're going to talk about it today, although we're going to really be focused on John and Madeline Aster,

probably the most famous couple on the Titanic.

And, of course, John Aster was the Elon Musk of his time, Colonel.

He was the richest man in the world when he went down on that April night.

So we're going to talk about that.

But before we do, let me remind you that we are a comedy podcast,

and occasionally we use foul language, Colonel.
