This is the movement of the Holy Family.

So welcome to our daily Rosary meditation.

We are on the Mount of Beatitudes,

and we are meditating today

on the most difficult of our Lord's teachings, love of enemies.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

The Gospel and especially the sermon on the Mount is full of radical demands.

Demands that when you stop to think about them for a second, seem to totally

fly in the face of common sense.

Turning the other cheek.

When someone asks you for one piece of clothing,

just out of the blue you give them two.

Walk twice the distance someone asks you to,

forgive 70 times 7?

I mean, really?

But the height of radicality is when Jesus tells us that there's nothing particularly praise worthy about loving those who love you.

Even the non-believers do that he says, but I say to you love your enemies do good to those who hurt you.

Now that, that is a wild demand.

That's tough.

And the consensus is that this is the height of Christian love of neighbor.

This is the ultimate test of true Christian love.
