Welcome back to the Lincoln Project. I'm your host, Reed Gailan. Today, I'm joined by Elizabeth Newton, an expert in both homeland and national security.

And the chief strategy officer for moonshot, a tech company seeking to end the online harm. Prior to moonshot, she served in numerous roles in the Department of Homeland Security during the Trump administration, including as a senior advisor, deputy chief of staff to multiple DHS secretaries, and is the assistant secretary for counter terrorism and threat prevention.

Elizabeth also served in the Bush 43 administration in the aftermath of September 11th, serving on the inaugural staff of the White House Homeland Security Council, now part of the NSC.

She is a board member of the National Immigration Forum, founder and member of the Council on National Security and Immigration, a former co-director of the Republican Accountability Project, and a national security contributor for ABC News.
