And yet AI companions are increasingly designed to be exactly that.

Last month, we shared her TED talk on this feed

and why it's time for us to think deliberately

about how we shape our connections to machines and with each other.

And so the question is no longer,

well, we fall in love with AI?

It's what happens now that we already have.

Briani recently joined TED curator Whitney Pennington Rogers for a follow-up conversation about how the rapid advancement of AI is forcing us to expand our understanding of love

and what it might look like.

They discuss the opportunities and ethical

questions that come with it and what we can do to build more connected, authentic relationships

in these uncharted times. How comfortable are we with a world in which, yeah, everything is

automatic, does everything is efficient, including our thoughts and needs, and do we want to live in that world?
