0:49.7	Hi guys, this week's Thanks for being here is from a great woman who I used to pal around with
0:56.5	when I was young and lived in the Bay Area. Her name is Rebecca Goodman and this is her
1:00.7	bar mitzvah toast to her son Asher. Our dear Asher, from the earliest of your days on Earth and in
1:09.0	our arms, I found you charming beyond measure. There was just something about you. The intelligence
1:15.4	and humor in your eyes spoke volumes before you had words. And when the words began to come,
1:22.3	you were hungry for them to give shape and substance to all you were pondering. When you were
1:27.5	just three, I remember you telling me that the clouds looked like jellyfish and that you slipped
1:33.7	like a sled. In those early words, I got my first glimpses of your thoughtful embrace of language.
1:41.0	And when months later, you said to me, Mommy, when I say bad words, my heart feels sad. I
1:47.3	experience what it's like to allow my busy mind to fully pause and see my little boy's heart.
1:54.3	I'm not sure what those bad words could have been, but it's such a comfort to know that you use
1:59.5	your words not only to amuse yourself and the rest of us, but as a true vehicle for your worthy
2:05.5	thoughts and ideas and as a means to express the kindness and intelligence that is you.
2:12.0	From the very beginning, one of our favorite things to do was snuggle together and read.
2:16.8	There were so many books, a couple of your favorites were Runaway Bunny and Little Fur Family.
