Welcome to Thanks for being here. Very short pod that comes out every Sunday morning as

Sundays are such a good time to let go of the day to day and touch base with what matters,

what will matter and what will have mattered. The answer to that question for me is often

found in ceremonies I could watch strangers get married once a week and I'm even more affected

by funerals, sitting in a service, taking in the story of one life. Just another ordinary

person who they loved and who loved them. In a way, eulogies are about the most succinct

source of clarity and direction I can think of. So I ask listeners who have lost someone dear

to share their words and every week I'll read one eulogy here so that we don't forget

there is a point to the pain. We have much to offer. We affect each other deeply and that ordinary

lives are really kind of exquisite when you look at them closely. This is thanks for being here.

Hi guys, thanks for being here. This is a time where we reflect on the power of a single life

to affect many others by sharing a eulogy that someone shared with us and this week's eulogy

is from a woman I know named Megan Bova Delisby. She had the very hard experience of having her baby

die unexpectedly when she was 37 weeks pregnant after a totally normal pregnancy. She went to the

hospital thinking she was in labor only to learn there was no heartbeat. They held a funeral for her

and a memorial mass in the year after the baby was a girl and they were going to name her Maggie.

Here are Megan's words.

My darling Maggie, you are a blessing. You have made me a mother and I've never been

prouder to be someone's something. You have made me better. I see life with different eyes,

more compassionate with more faith and more certain that motherhood is for me.

I didn't know how much I wanted to raise a daughter until you arrived. I think we would have raised

each other in a lot of ways and I think we were kindred angel spirits. Maybe we would have had a
