Most families have secrets, but not everyone wants to know the truth.

Today, we're bringing you a special story by my colleague Jackie Harris.

It's about what happens when a genealogist from New Hampshire finally digs into her own family's past and unearths a 100-year-old tragedy.

Then she sets out to make sure the truth will never be buried again.

And a heads up, the story you're about to hear involves sexual violence against children

and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Erin is the genealogy and reference librarian at the Dairy Public Library.

People come to her for information on local history and for help looking up their ancestors.

She's like a history detective.

To me, it's a rush, and I'll go flying through the archives.

I'll be diving through the newspapers, and I think it's exhilarating.
