I'm at the San Diego Automotive Museum, which is tucked inside a large park in your downtown.

Curator Maria Romano De Leon meets me at a side door to let me in.

Today the museum is actually closed to the public, but I'm getting a private tour.

Maria leads me down a back hallway and pushes through a curtain into the main floor of the museum.

It looks like a giant airplane hangar.

Oh my god, the Scooby-Doo mystery machine.

Whoa.

Is this the real?

Maria points out objects in the collection as we go by.

Next to the Super Groovy Mystery Machine, there's plenty of other automotive relics, like

the Batmobile from the 1960s TV show.

But we're belining to the back because we're here to see one car in particular, the

Crown Jewel of the museum's collection.

We have the Louis-Mattar car, so I know why you're here.

And then Maria shows me, without a doubt, the strangest car that I've ever seen.
