Our guest today is Lou Dawson, who is a ski mountaineer, the founder of Wild Snow.com.

He is an author and the first person to ski down all 54 of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks.

And in this conversation, Lou and I discussed all of those things. We talk about the history

and the current state of backcountry skiing. And we also discuss his new guidebook called

Light Tours of Colorado, which has a subtitle that I really like. It's mellow backcountry ski routes to minimize avalanche exposure.

It might not be the most succinct subtitle, but it's very descriptive.

Light Tours of Colorado is published by Beacon Guidebooks, and you may recall,

we had Beacon Guidebooks founder, Andy Sovick, on episode
