| 0:54.5 | it's this fundamental idea that everybody that gets a government paycheck is a servant to the people. |
| 1:02.4 | They are public servants. They are there to serve us. We are not there to serve them. They are |
| 1:08.9 | there to serve us. It is the fundamental understanding. |
| 1:13.6 | We come from the Declaration of Independence, that all men are created equal, that governments |
| 1:20.2 | are created to secure our rights, not to rule over us. And in so many ways we've been taught, |
| 1:26.8 | we've lost the plot. And I have a theory behind this. |
| 1:30.0 | And I'll tell you the theory before we get started. Somehow we decided that 90% of our children |
| 1:37.0 | at the age of five, we hand over to a government school system expecting the government to teach |
| 1:43.9 | the children to be free. In other words, |
| 1:47.3 | we expect the government to teach the children that the government is there to serve the children. |
| 1:54.3 | But does that make sense? Government isn't teaching our children to serve. They're teaching the |
| 1:59.1 | children to serve government. |
| 2:06.5 | Sit down, shut up, do what you're told. You challenge the government establishment. You're going to get punished. |

And it shows up this idea of, well, government's in charge and, you know, you have to do what the government says, shows up in so much of our understanding. Even going back to, you know, how often I see Christians, you know, they'll quote Paul, they'll call the book of Romans chapter 13, which says, let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.
