What a heavy day here in Boise, Idaho in the Lorry Valley trial.

It was something that I'll never forget seeing these photos, hearing these descriptions.

I'm going to thank everybody who donated tomorrow and also do a music fact tomorrow.

It's just been that kind of a day. Very heavy. I'm grateful for all of you who have donated by the way, but we're going to get into this.

So Detective Ray Hermesio was still on the stand from the Rexburg Police Department. He's a detective just a little recap. He's been on the case since before they even knew the kids were missing.

He became involved on November 1st of 2019 after being contacted by Fremont County to try and locate the Jeep that was used in the attempt on Brandon Boudreau, which was the ex-husband of Melanie's.

And so he talked to Gilbert PD who asked them to seize the Jeep. He called them to get a little more information after Fremont contacted him.

They wanted him to do some intermittent surveillance on the residents as well. So they took photos of Lori and Chad walking into the town homes.

Never saw Tyler or JJ, obviously at this point, both children had been murdered.

And he just wasn't aware of Tyler and JJ and wasn't looking for them at that point.

So just the Jeep, but they did get the Jeep on November the 4th. And he first heard about JJ from Gilbert PD when they came up to serve a warrant on the Jeep to get the GPS data off that Jeep.

During that visit is when he learned of JJ and Tyler when he was up in Rexburg.

They were told K was concerned that she hadn't talked to JJ for a while.

By the way, it wasn't when Hermesio was in Rexburg. It was when the Gilbert PD came up.

When they were there in Rexburg, that's when it was conveyed to Detective Hermesio.

Hey, the grandma's worried she isn't seeing her grandson in a while.

So we know Kay and Larry were going to check for JJ and Arizona.

And on November 25th, 2019, Detective Hermesio got a call from Detective Ryan Pillar from Arizona saying that they hadn't found JJ.

And at this point, Kay had called and asked for that welfare check, which was done the next morning.
