podcast. I am super excited for this week's guest. Lori Putnam is an award-winning plane air painter. In recent years

I really enjoyed watching her career explode. Lori devoted herself full-time to painting in 2005 after running a successful graphic design firm for 13 years.

Since then, Lori has been featured in numerous magazines, including American Art Collector, Planar magazine, Southwest

Art, Fine Art Carnassure, and Art of the West.

She is also a member of and has exhibited with many, many respected organizations.

She participates annually in Invitational Plain Air events and has won awards in Colorado, California,

Wyoming, Florida, Georgia, and Ireland.

I want to ask you about when you first started out,

do you remember what it felt like when you decided to leave your graphic design firm to paint full time?

Well, there was a lot of mixed emotions, of course, fear, the biggest among them obviously.

I knew that it was going to mean a lot of sacrifice of the way we lived and

those types of things but I was so incredibly burned out with the graphic design and feeling

so miserable every day and you know there's this easel over in the corner, you know, painting was like your second job.

You know, a lot of people work two jobs, but it's those weird hours that the second job gets.
