Orvist Fly Fishing Guide Podcast talking this week about getting ready for the fishing season

and getting organized as we did last time and we had a couple of requests on

organizing your flies how do you keep your flies organized How do you keep your flies organized? How do you how do you

remember which is which and what kind of boxes to use and so on? Well that's a very

it's a real personal question.

It's a real subjective question.

It's a real subjective question.

And I think everybody has their own method for storing and organizing their flies and

being able to grab the right flybox when they want.

So I'll give you some suggestions on how I do it. Not that you want to do it the way I do it because there's no right or wrong way. You need to have all the flies you need with you at any given time.

All the flies are necessary.

You need to be able to find the flies and not lose them.

That's about all, whatever works for you is going to be the best system in the world.

But I'll give you some ideas on what I do and this may, some of these ideas might give you some

suggestions on how you want to organize your own flies.

So I have lots of fly boxes and I store them in a drawer, not that I'm that organized, believe me, it sounds organized but it really

isn't, but I have my bass flies and my steelhead flies and my various types of salt water flies and so that I can just grab three or four boxes when I go on a fishing trip instead of having to have to take everything I own. Now there's some

crossovers of course. If I'm going to Atlantic salmon fishing I might grab some

steelhead flies just a case where I'm going steelhead fishing I'll definitely
