So yesterday, Peter Mandelson was arrested. He spent around eight hours in police custody,

facing questions over his links to the paedophile financier

Jeffrey Epstein. So this was a dramatic moment in the ongoing saga around Jeffrey Epstein,

people that he knew, Lord Mandelson in particular, of course, as well. So he's a former Labour

Minister. He's been released on bail pending further investigation,

and he was detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office. So in other words,

this is over these allegations that he shared sensitive information with Geoffrey Epstein

while he was business secretary under Gordon Brown.

And we were both off last week when Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was arrested under suspicion of

the same potential offence.

This is what the Crown Prosecution Service says the offence is.

It's when a public officer acts in such a willful way to neglect to perform their duty and or willfully misconducts themselves

to such a degree as to amount to an abuse of the public's trust in the office without reasonable
