This is the Tom Hartman program.

So the Fed meets again on September 18th,

but we had some economic numbers that came out. Employers added

a hundred and forty thousand jobs in August that's considerably less well somewhat

less than what economists were predicting which suggests that the economy is continuing to

slow down. July and June's numbers were also downward revised which more

evidence but the unemployment rate dropped from 4.3% down to 4.2%, which is good.

And average hourly earnings went up 4 tenths of a percent for 3.8% overall for the year.

So right now pay raises are beating inflation, which is a good thing.

And the average work week also increased slightly indicating that workers are getting more hours,

which is good news.

So that's the economic news and we'll see what happens on the 18th when the Fed meets.

I'm betting on a quarter point drop.

A lot of folks are betting on and hoping for a half a point. I would

love to see a half a point. I think that frankly I think three quarters of a point is
