I'm joined by Janik Garcia. Hey, Tom Marks. Hello. And Brian, I'll talk to you. Hi,

how are you? Today we're going to be talking about the fifth anniversary of Amiibo and

Smash for the Wii U, as well as some not super surprising sales charts and a whole lot

more. So let's get right into it with the fifth anniversary of Amiibo. Brian. Yes. I'm also

very sad that we couldn't have Pear on this week. So Brian, you're going to have to hold the

fort on this one because I didn't like fall into the craze. No, you're you're queuing

me up. Like I'm like I'm a former addict. It was a story. Brian. Yes, I am. Pear is very

much still addicted. Pear still gets Amiibo. He just got his inner arm. Yeah, he just got

and he got Simon Belmont, which is a really cool looking one. It's either dragging me back

in. When this show has a long history of documenting the sort of the process of what

it was like to live through that era, but also attempt to collect them at the time. Amiibo

obviously were I think we can qualify them as a craze at this point because they were

tremendously popular. And now not so much, although they still have an audience and they

still keep making them and the quality is actually gotten better and better. But for a

while there, sort of married to the launch of Smash Brothers, we got Amiibo pretty regularly.

And the shipments for them in traditional Nintendo fashion were completely unpredictable and

unreliable and all over the place. And so that led to a lot of us going into stores and

being like, Hey, do you guys have Rosalina and the guy at Target being like, what is that?

And I'd show him a picture and be like, did you check the baby girls aisle with all the

baby toys for a little baby girls? Did they really? Yeah. So it happens. It's okay. I mean,

an adult man walks into a target at 730 in the morning to buy like a magic woman action
