The former NFL star was the center of American attention in the mid-90s accused of brutally killing

his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

The TV trial gripped the country and his eventual acquittal was a pivotal moment in the American cultural landscape.

However, two years later, a jury in a civil trial found O.J. Simpson liable for their deaths and ordered him to pay 33.5 million dollars

in damages.

Simpson's trouble with the law did not end there.

He was arrested in 2007 in Las Vegas and found guilty of 12 charges
