This past weekend was kind of a tough time for Star Wars fans,

wasn't it, Dan?

Yeah, a lot of, we're losing a lot of iconic members not only of the Star Wars community, but just in the world of entertainment.

This is true. This is true. And first of foremost we lost Wilford Brimmley who for Star Wars fans you remember

Ms Noah the grumpy old hermit from what was it Ewax the Battle of

Endor TV movie ran on ABC back in November 85 and what was a sequel of sorts to Care

of Courage and Ewok, which also ran an ABC but in November of 84.

And the other gentleman we lost, of course, was Tom Pollack, who was the chairman of the American Film Institute, also former head of

Universal Pictures. He was 77 when he passed on Saturday. We're going to get to

the important role that Tom played in the formation of the

Star Wars franchise in the second half of today's show. But back to Brimley, now you've seen undoubtedly, you know, a battle for Endor, right?

I saw, I saw both of them that when they actually aired and that was it.

Okay. when they actually aired and that was it. Okay, well, I know we've talked about this, you know, this TV movie on a previous episode of looking at Lucasfilm, but we're going to be talking

about today is how grimly got the role of Noah and it was kind of a roundabout

thing. ILM had been hired by 20th century Fox to do the effects for Ron Howard's

cocoon.
