It's been nearly a year since we came together to discuss a book that we all ::GASP:: really liked! And our enjoyment is yours too as the Book Club Crew takes a trip down memory lane with the memoir "Look Me In the Eye" by John Elder Robison. Well, someone's memory lane. We discuss the tender, humorous, and melancholic life story of an man on the autism spectrum growing up without a diagnosis then take this opportunity to improve our focus on the individual in how we provide behavior analytic services (in a book with no mention of behavior analysis at all!).

Content discussed this episode:

Robison, J.E.. (2007). Look me in the eye. Crown Publishers.

taste of what the full discussion is like. If you hear it and say, you know what, I want to hear

0:48.0

the end of this discussion, plus get access to all of our other older book clubs that we've done, as well as two CEs for each of the book clubs

0:55.5

that you listen to, well, head on over to patreon.com slash ABA inside track right now and subscribe

1:00.9

at the $10 or $20 level to get access to all of those episodes, including the one you're

1:06.8

about to hear the introduction of right now. We really enjoyed this book. We had a lot of fun

1:11.2

talking about it. We think it really added a lot to our sort of thought process of working with

1:16.4

clients as individuals rather than as, say, problems to be solved, right? Not something that any good

1:22.1

practitioner wants to do. We thought this was a really good book to learn about experiences that we

1:26.0

ourselves have not had to kind of increase our knowledge of our client base.

1:30.2

So we hope you find this preview fascinating and want to hear even more, and we hope you

1:35.3

enjoy it.
