She was almost 80 just a few days short of her 80th

birthday. And she is probably best remember for two things. One, being married to Burt Reynolds.

And they had sort of a rocky, high profile marriage. They were married for what, about 11 years?

Yeah.

And they were tabloid back when the, you know, when people actually got their gossip rumor and innuendo from the tabloids, you know, you had to go to the newsstand. They were, I remember all the time as a kid like going places with my grandmother and, you know, standing in the checkout lines and reading the tabloids. And she got one of them, the inquirer or one of my camera, which one it was.

And Grandma, why do you read that? It's interesting. You know most of it's not real, but it's still interesting. Think about how much our society has changed, right? Well, has it really? I mean, aren't we just putting that on the internet now?

Well, that's my point.

But she was also known in terms of her own career as the receptionist, Jennifer Marlowe, on WKRP in Cincinnati, which for people like us who are in this business, is a beloved program about a small radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the

wacky wild characters in the show that while a sitcom, I think every radio station I've ever worked at,

there's somebody who resembles one of those characters. Absolutely. And the creator of that

TV show was inspired from a real radio station. Of course, the call letters, WKRP. It's not an actual

radio station. There is a WKRC in Cincinnati, but this, you know, the TV show was based off a struggling
