Luke chapter 2, verse 26, and it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit

that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. What a picture. This is talking

about Simeon in the temple who had been told by the Holy Spirit that before he died, he would see

the Messiah, Jesus. You can only imagine what every day was like for him.

Like, could this be the day? I know it's going to happen at some point. Could this be the day

when I see the promised Messiah, we've read about for centuries throughout the Old Testament.

I'm going to see him.

Could it be today?

And verse 27 says he came into the spirit in the temple one day.

And when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him according to the custom of the law,

he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,

Lord, now you're letting your servant depart in peace according to your

word for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all

peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people, Israel.
