You may be familiar with Gary Chapman's book Five Love Languages. The languages are

quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, physical touch, or acts of service.

My wife and I read that several years ago when it was life-changing for our relationship.

My love language is words of affirmation. She loves gifting me with tender words of affirmation.

So I just assumed that was her love language too and it turns out it's not.

Hers is acts of service. Learning that truth opened up a whole new way for me to show her my love.

Things like doing little jobs around the house for her. Who knew you could show love by merely

taking out the trash. But how do you like receiving love? And perhaps a better question is how do you

like showing love? And is your way of showing love specific and unique to each person you are

loving? Well, this meditation from Hosea Chapter 6 is a reflection of love languages,

how we receive love, how we share it with others, and specifically how we receive and show our

love to God. We will be together for about 15 minutes, but allow me to watch the clock.

I would rather you start to softly close your eyes and rest in the truth that God experiences

your most steadfast love when you take the time to know Him. So be intentional here for a moment

to love Him by knowing Him.

Our world often emphasizes doing. But God emphasizes knowing. He has already done the work.

He wants you to love Him by knowing that the work is done.
