We are back. It has been far too long, just about three months since we last recorded one of these.

I got to probably do the same for Euro track and a few other recurring shows that we have here at Single Track.

But anyways, this is long run archives, I think number 18. We've got friends and frequent collaborators, Brett Hornig and Jeff Colt in the figurative house. We have way too

much to talk about so much so that we probably need to record two or three of these to get through

all the topics. And actually, before we get into it, I need to thank all the listeners and the viewers

that weighed in last week when we put the bat signal out on Instagram requesting show

ideas. A lot of people weighed in, a lot of really awesome stuff. It's exactly what we want.

I think all three of us love observing the sport and generating topics for these episodes.

But I think a lot of the magic also happens when we just get a bunch of inbound and there's

things we've never considered. And I think a lot of this episode is going to be that. So I think that's the

genius of having an engaged audience. So thanks to everyone for that. But let's dive in here.

The Paris Olympics are going on right now. And there is at least one event that is blatantly absent. It is the

backyard ultra. Jeff, as the apparent originator of this idea to get it in the games, what do you

think? Is this an idea that is only more urgent to implement after seeing the beginning of the Paris

games? Yeah, the thought crossed my mind

during opening ceremonies

and seeing all the boats coming down.

I was like, right now they could be flashing

to Snoop Dogg, you know, like at the Biggs

ultra format, the backyard ultra format,

and seeing the starting gun go off,

I do think the most interesting part of a backyard format in something like the Olympics is,
