All right. So everybody, this is going to be an interview of me and now, correct me if I get this name wrong. Bobby Nicol Cote? You bet. All right. Formerly known as Bobby Nicol, formerly known as

Bob Nicol. And this is an interview that I've really wanted to do for a long time

because it's an issue that I'll say it's emerging. And I've recently had a lot of conversations

with a lot of trail runners, ultra runners, race directors. You know, it's kind of like industry-wide

and it's about transgender issues.

And I do want to make a couple of disclaimers going into this.

One, Bobby, I'm consulting with Bobby and interviewing Bobby on these issues, A, because I know her

and knew her actually was in my first winter ultra. And she's not here to speak for the entire ultra world. You know, like my wife, me and her were just joking about this, because in a lot of instances, she's the only African American in the room, and people come to her and say, as a black person, and she says, well, I'm not speaking for all the black people. I'm just speaking

for myself. So I don't want anyone to think and I don't want Bobby to feel like I'm saying, you're

the voice of this entire issue and I want you to speak for it. And the second disclaimer I wanted to make

is I might ask questions that are offensive. I might ask questions that cross lines. And if that happens,

I just want Bobby to tell me that and to tell me why and maybe have a dialogue about that too.

But I'm not reaching out in an effort to offend anyone or to ask any offensive questions.
