Mr. Miles, and I'm here today with Vanessa runs.

This is going to be a very different kind of an episode.

Up till now our show has been 10 minute segments, light-hearted, comedic, funny,

you know, lots of jokes and just regular runners for talking about the kind of issues that regular runners are interested in.

I want to start these one-on-one interviews and what I did was I made a list of five people that I wanted to start with that, you know, like they're basically people that if you said, hey Scott, you want to go in a long run with someone and get to know them better?

Who would you pick?

And today, we're talking to Vanessa Runs, who was one of those five people.

And I guess, kind of consistent with our show's philosophy.

Vanessa, she's not the fastest runner that ever lived and she hasn't

you know summoned the tallest mountains in the world. She's you know she's I would call

I mean I don't know I don't want to put you down but I would say you're an ordinary

runner with a very extraordinary life.

She described yourself as an author, a nomad, and a trail geek.

And she's written two books.

One is The Summit Secret, the other is Daughters of Distance.

And I've met her a few times.
