It is Sunday morning, and it's easier now to be clear about exactly what happened at that enormous protest march in London yesterday

the police gave us their version of events after we'd recorded yesterday's show.

Yes that's right, nine officers injured they say and as things

stand a hundred and twenty six people arrested the vast majority of those what they

call counter-protesters and that mainly means the far right and they were talking about the

prime minister's been talking about violent wholly unacceptable scenes but

he's also been talking about some banners and some slogans that were chanted by what

he described as Hamas sympathizers attending the march in favour, the National March for

Palestine. So on one side quite a lot of arrests

relating to these far-right protesters and on the other side investigations really

into banners and chants supposedly sympathetic towards Hamas.

And interestingly the police statement did I think quite unusually say just as significant to use their phrase was what they were investigating incidents of hate crime that had happened at the protests
