Jonathan Charks, who now writes for the ringer. And the reason why he was so perfect is because

he's most closely connected with the Dallas Mavericks, and the Dallas Maverick's starting center

last year was Azza Petulia, who is now the starting center for the Golden State Warriors.

So we talk about him, Javelle McGee, who was a recent

Maverick as well, and then the other kind of morass with a little bit of Dremont, Anderson Verrageau,

James Michael McAdoo, and Damien Jones, and kind of everything else along in there.

Doing well. How are you?

I'm good.

I don't think there's anybody better to talk with about the Warrior Center position than somebody who followed the Mavericks closely, who also followed Zaza-Pachulia closely.

Yes, like the Mazzin Warriors just did a all-out center trade there. Like we moved our whole position over to Gold State somehow.

So where would you start if you were to explain to Warriors fans what Petulia did last year?

Well, I think the first thing that happened was Azza is he just got burned out. Let me look at the minutes, but he played more minutes for Dallas than he had played in a long time. And by the end of the season, he was like an orange that has been squeezed of all its pulp. So like he's never been a great athlete. So by the end of the year, he's had nothing left. He's really a poor man's Andrew Bogot in a lot of ways. Like he's a big guy, he sets

great screens, he rebounds. And I think the most surprising about him, if you haven't watched

him for us, how good a passer he is. Yeah, I believe... That was something that when I was digging

through stats, when I wrote a piece for The Athletic about him when the whole thing happened. And

what happened with him was that his

assist, like his assist ratio flew up just because the team was asking him to do more. I think
