Summary

The Warriors exorcised a few demons by beating the Thunder on Saturday evening behind some amazing defense and even better offensive execution in the third and fourth quarters. Kevin Durant shone brightly with 28 points and some key defensive plays, while Stephen Curry held it down from three-point land. Klay Thompson clearly took his defensive assignments seriously, helping to force Russell Westbrook in to 5 turnovers on the night.Β  The Dubs' schedule through the next few weeks has some highlights but for the most part is a period of time in which the team should feast on lesser opponents. They will have to maintain their current offensive output, rebound and take care of the ball, and play the kind of stifling defense we saw against OKC every time out. Jordan Bell's return to the lineup should help. Tonight GSW is at Madison Square Garden to face the Knicks, where Curry has provided ample fireworks in the past. This Knicks team has been in freefall since Kristaps Porzingis went down with an ACL rupture at the end of January. However, they do rebound the ball and the Warriors get every team's best shot, so it would be best if the Dubs don't fall asleep in the Big Apple. I would take more of Klay's thoughts on scaffolding or anything else that comes to his mind. Zaza Pachulia has come under fire for appearing to intentionally fall onto Russell Westbrook as both were in a scrum for a loose ball. Official Locked on Warriors opinion: Zaza deserves a fine. It was dangerous and not a basketball play, and it was disingenuous. A flop is perfectly fine when it doesn't endanger another player's health. But what Zaza did could be classified as "dirty." Other topics include: JaVale starting, blocked jump shots, and the latest on Jimmy Butler's injury. Didn't make the podcast: Draymond had his most recent technical foul rescinded, putting him at 14 for the season - two away from a suspension. Learn more about your ad choices. Greetings Hoops Heads, welcome to Locked-on Warriors, part of the Locked-on Podcast Network.

0:33.7

It's Monday, February 26th. I'm your host, Aliko Carter. First things first, Zaza did that on purpose.

0:41.3

I want to be very clear about that. He has a history of doing it. Falling over onto Russell Westbrook was,

0:49.3

you know, it was a purposeful thing. You know, he's not that uncoordinated and nobody knocked him over. He fell on

0:55.3

Russ. Does he deserve to be punished for that? I think, yes, with 2020 hindsight, I mean, they can go

1:01.5

back and look at that and give him a fine. Like, I'm not going to pretend like just because he plays

1:06.0

for my favorite team. He's not doing some subterfuge over there. That was dirty and it wasn't cool. And I hope that

1:12.6

Steve Kerr had a conversation with him about it, about not, you know, because we want him to

1:16.7

draw his line a little bit before dirty. You know, we want him to draw his line at scrappy,

1:21.8

you know, where Bogot drew his line back in the day. Bogan never fell on anybody, but he would give people pushes and shoves and this and that. And that's what Zaza does so well, but he's got to rein himself in

1:33.8

because it was so very clear from replay that he fell over onto Russell without provocation.

1:41.8

So that's my opinion on that. And we're going to get into a lot of other

1:45.3

warriors-related subjects. Today, it feels like things are finally kind of back to normal,

1:49.7

taking a, you know, a regular tent. The All-Star game is over. The All-Star break has come and

1:55.8

gone. A few of the Warriors look like they got a little bit of sun. It's great. They're looking

1:59.9

very, very good on the offensive end, still got some things to do defensively and taking care of the Warriors look like they got a little bit of sun. It's great. They're looking very, very good on the offensive end, still got some things to do defensively and taking care of the

2:04.9

ball, but two big wins coming back from the All-Star break, and they're keeping pace with the

2:11.1

Houston Rockets right now, and the Rockets are playing extremely well. So we're going to talk about

2:14.7

that game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first segment.

2:18.1

Very, very exciting basketball. And how could you not want a seven-game series between these two

2:23.0

teams? In the second segment, we're going to look ahead on the Warriors schedule. They've got
