We're back on the Locked-on Steelers podcast and a happy new year to all of you, the first

locked-on Steelers podcast of the year 2018. And we've got to talk about Brown Steelers because we

were off New Year's day. And I know it already seems like a while ago because we moved on

talking about the playoff matchups. But with so much to talk about with the Steelers the next

couple weeks, obviously no game this week. We've got to focus on this Browns game a little bit because there's very important things to take away from this game, both positively, and believe it or not, negatively as well.

We'll start with Landry Jones.

It gets torn apart in Pittsburgh.

Guys hate him.

I don't understand why.

Yes, he's not great, but with this supporting cast around him, he makes right decisions, he's smart with the football, he sees things pre and post snap that are really

important, he consistently gets them in good looks, he can handle things mentally, and he's

physically talented enough to get the job done. Yeah, no backup quarterback in the NFL is going

to look amazing, but Jones is a guy who has proven that he can step into the lineup.

Todd Hilley can run his regular offense.

They can get things done with Jones in the lineup that they can with Ben in the lineup.

Not to the degree, obviously.

He's not as good vertically down the field.

That's probably the biggest area of Ben's ability to create big plays with his arm. He's also not as nimble and as good in the field. That's probably the biggest area, Ben's ability to create big

break down a little bit. So there are definitely obvious drawbacks that you get with Larry Jones.

He doesn't have the arm talent of Ben either for the accuracy. But 23 or 27, 239 yards.
