This is the Locked on NFL podcast, and as has become tradition, Mike Sando from ESPN joins us

every Thursday.

Mike, how are you? I'm doing well.

Yeah, me too. It's a fun time of the year. It's a little bit of the calm before the storm,

but the NFL keeps giving us little nuggets. You know, they gave us Alex Smith just a year ago at this time, and now it's Joe Flacco. And on yesterday's show, Mark Schofield and I talked about this

trade, but it had just happened. I mean, it was literally five minutes old. And I thought about it

more since then, and I think I understand it a little bit better. I still don't approve of it

necessarily for Denver. But I want to get your initial thoughts thoughts and then we'll talk a little bit more about it.

What's so funny is, you know, we, we evaluate this as this trade in total isolation of everything

else, right?

Right.

We don't know what the rest of their offseason is going to be.

So what if they draft a quarterback in the first round?

And then we see Flacco fits really well with what their coordinator wants to do and is, you know, a couple octaves better than Keenham had been for them.

Fangio coaches up their defense and they go 10 and 6 make the playoffs.

And they love this quarterback who looks great in preseason.

That's a different evaluation than...
