I'm West Goldberg, and I'm here with David R Mill and and the Washington Post Ben Golliver.

The NBA finals start Thursday and for the first time in nearly half a decade,

it won't be the Warriors Rissel Calves.

For the first time in almost a whole decade, LeBron won't be in the finals.

And for the first time ever, the Toronto Raptors will be.

That means we have a matchup that we haven't seen before, so there's a lot to get into.

I thought we could do this thing where each of us list our top five most interesting players in the finals for either team and then we can just sort of

go through them and do our preview thing that way and we'll just start from number one and then work our way back to number five because I'd be shocked if we didn't all have the same person here at the top.

Ben, you're the guest. Let's work off of your list. Dave and I will just tell you if we have that same player on ours and where. So Ben, the most interesting player in the

NBA finals is.

I think it's Kawai Leonard and I say that because it's been a really long and strange trip

for him back to the finals. As you'll remember in 2014, he kind of had that like Pascal Siaachem or Andre Guadalajev type role

for the San Antonio Spurs trying to lock down on LeBron James make his life as difficult as possible on the Miami heat.

I'm sorry, I don't remember the 2014 finals.

I don't remember that at all.

You guys probably block that one out.

But it's a little bit of role reversal now, right?
