Summary

In this episode, I share my notes from Denver's 104-103 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The Nuggets were ice cold to open the game and then fell into a rut of turning the ball over and forcing shots, namely the team's lead guards, Will Barton and Jamal Murray. In many ways, this game laid bare just how much of an impact Murray has on the team. Bad Murray helped bury the Nuggets, down 21 points in the first half. Good Murray helped rally the Nuggets back within a point. How quickly he learns to become good Murray will determine how quickly the Nuggets can transform into a true contender.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

They fall to San Antonio, 104, 103. You know, people always talk, is it worse to lose in a blowout, or is it

0:46.5

worse to lose in the final moments? It's a question for the philosophers, but unfortunately,

0:52.9

Denver Nuggets fans can answer because they got both in one game.

0:57.5

Unfortunately, Denver falls behind early, couldn't get a rhythm going, really looked off their game for most of this,

1:05.0

and then rallied back in the fourth, had a lot of fight, knocked down some shots, kind of showed their talent.

1:10.6

When you come back from a game like that, it has a lot to do with knocked down some shots, kind of showed their talent. When you come back

1:11.4

from a game like that, it has a lot to do with just talent, just raw talent, upside. What can a team

1:16.2

do when their back is against the wall? And Denver kind of showed, showed their hand a little bit

1:20.6

there and was very impressive, but unfortunately came up just a bit shy, just one point shy of

1:27.0

doing the unthinkable.

1:28.9

So this game is going to be on the notes from that.

1:30.8

If you're new to the show, welcome.

I like to always kind of go rather than kind of go over what happened in the game,

1:37.6

play by play, beat by beat.
