Nick Longrich is a paleontologist at England's Bath University, and a lead author of a report on the fossil find.

We found a lot of different pleziosaur fossils in this freshwater deposit.

We found junals, we found adults, we found bones, we found teeth that they lost,

they shed their teeth, now it sharks.

So we found a lot of fossils, and just these things were up there routinely,

and probably spent much of not all of their lives in freshwater.

66 million years ago, the asteroid hits all these things going extinct including pleziosaur.

As a scientist, I can never say anything is impossible.

All hypotheses are on the table, and some level until they're proven false.

We could find a lot of small fish in the water, but it could be a pleziosaur.

I think that is, however, extremely unlikely.
