website on the planet, but specifically at Chiefs Digest and the Lockdown Chiefs site. the fun. All right, that's enough. Let's do this. Austin says on defense as it stands now, what do you think is more vital to improve at this point?

Defense of line, linebacker's defensive backs because I'd argue linebacker. You could, Austin, but you'd be wrong. And here's's the reason because linebacker just isn't as

important in a 43 scheme. While you do need to have your linebacker running around

making plays it is a little bit easier when you've got your defensive linemen

also an attacking mode no longer is the job of your defensive linemen also an attacking mode.

No longer is the job of the defensive linemen

to simply occupy blockers, at least in the system

that Spagnolo has used in the past.

I would say that the most important thing

they can do is to continue to build up the

defensive back group. I think Bill Bellicick showed a good example for how a

defense can be built from the back forward. In the modern NFL, I don't think you can scheme your way to success in the passing game

I think you need talent there in order to do it and I think you can scheme your way to

some success in terms of defending the run and in terms of the past rush.
